There are nights like tonight when I get overwhelmed thinking about how much I love you and how I am so blessed to be your Mom. The way you welcomed me home this afternoon after my work will be one of the best memories I have of you forever. I remember the huge smile on your face, how your eyes lit up when you saw me, how you kept repeating “Mom” as you were beaming to your dad, as if my coming home was the greatest thing to ever happen in your little world. You wanted to jump up and down but you couldn’t jump yet, but I bet in your mind you were actually doing it. Instead you walked around the room bending your knees and tip toeing, because that’s jumping for you for now. And when I sat on the couch, you kept hugging my legs, and you told me about your morning.
You hit a sort of milestone today when you formed a complete sentence. You said to your dad and I– “I have poop”. We both heard it clearly. And this gave us so much joy.
I want you to know that we love you more than anything. I love you more than anything and I promise to do my best to give you a wonderful life. Thank you for being the way you are, so loving, so affectionate, empathetic and cheerful. You are a joy to be around and you bring us all closer together. I’m so blessed to be your Mom, Jakey. ❤️
